Aidan Hutchinson – Defensive End, Detroit Lions

Stats: 6 tackles, 2 tackles for loss, 3 sacks

After being kept quiet in Week One, the #2 overall pick made some noise in his second game. He made the game difficult for Carson Wentz and always seemed on his tail. His 3 sacks are a rookie record for the Detroit Lions.

After been written off by some fans after only one game, Hutchinson bounced back with a brilliant performance as the Lions won their first game of the season. The Detroit faithful will be hoping his future performances are closer to those of Week Two rather than Week One.

Garrett Wilson – Wide Receiver, New York Jets

Stats: 102 receiving yards, 2 touchdowns

One of the best performances in the entire league was from the Jets’ rookie receiver. Wilson eclipsed 100 yards and caught two touchdowns. One of which was the game winner as the Jets came back in crazy fashion. A performance like this will turn Wilson into a hero for Jets fans.

He has already been receiving high praise from teammates:

If the rookie out of Ohio State can continue these performances he will be feared by opposing defences very quickly.

Cole Strange – Guard, New England Patriots

Being a rookie offensive lineman in the NFL can be a very hard job. Opposing experienced defensive linemen can often move them about at their will. However, this has not been the case with Cole Strange.

He had a tough task in Week Two going up against the powerful Steelers D-Line. Strange was impressively able to keep Cameron Heyward quiet. Heyward is an all-pro defender who is -normally a game-wrecker. Whilst it may go under the radar because Strange is an offensive lineman, he was possibly the best player on this list.

Drake London – Wide Receiver, Atlanta Falcons

Stats: 86 receiving yards, 1 touchdown

The first receiver taken in the 2022 NFL draft got off to a good start in Week One and continued to perform in week 2. Against the Rams he was able to score his first touchdown. What is most impressive is how he has become the star of the offense already. Almost 50% of all passes were thrown his way. This is an elite figure.

The Falcons may have found their replacement for Julio Jones already.

Devin Lloyd – Linebacker, Jacksonville Jaguars

Stats: 6 tackles, 3 passes defended, 1 interception

The former Utah linebacker showed why he was taken in the first round as the Jaguars had their way with the Colts. The rookie was a commanding presence on the defence. His play was one of the reasons that the Colts were not able to score a single point. It was the first shutout the Jags have had since 2017.

Jags fans will be very happy with how Lloyd has played and will hope he continues to develop. He has all the tools to become a premier linebacker in the NFL.
