Who needs to bounce back in NFL Week Six?
Week Five saw an impressive four out of the five bounce back nominees put on impressive performances.
Now we head into Week Six, can’t believe I’m saying that, Week Six. Enjoy it folks, because the season is moving at some pace.
Let’s get to it…
1. Denver Broncos
Secretly, (sorry Broncos fans!) I was hoping and expecting to see Denver here this week. Reason being is that I couldn’t see a way in which they would beat the fired up New York Jets. They did stay in the game but Robert Saleh and Nathaniel Hackett’s men made sure to return home with a W.
Russell Wilson and company now play on Thursday night against the Chiefs, which doesn’t bode well for them. I can’t see them having any real chance in this one, but even with that said, I’d like them to go out and show some character. Make it tough for the Chiefs.
I want to see some physicality and grit from Denver. I have looked at their upcoming fixtures and I’m struggling to see where the wins will come from.
2. Commanders defense
Offensively the Commanders haven’t been all to bad, but the defense currently stinks. Which is shocking to say considering the amount of 1st round draft picks littered throughout. You also have Riviera your HC who is defensive minded and Jack Del Rio who is your DC, both regarded as two of the soundest defensive minds in the game.
But their experience and knowledge certainly isn’t rubbing off on the players. Do you know they have given up 30 points or more in four straight games? You can’t win matches in the NFL doing that. Between the Commanders defence and the Broncos above, you have the two worst defences in the league, by some margin too.
Now the Commanders face off against the Falcons and if they don’t watch out, Ridder and his guys might just make it five games in a row. Major, major bounce back required in Week Six.
3. Tennessee Titans
The Titans travel to London for the third and final game of the London series. They had a great win in Week Four against the Bengals, but lost last week to the Colts. Inconsistent is how I would describe the Titans currently.
At this stage of the season it isn’t a major problem, as there are so many games still to come, but they need to watch out. You want to find some rhythm and consistency as quickly as possible and they face the Ravens in London, which is a very winnable game. Hopkins had his best game since joining in their loss to the Colts and if they are to beat the Ravens, I firmly believe he will have a big part to play in it.
The Ravens offense is yet to get going, so they might have found an opportunity here and I’m curious to see if they can take it.
4. New England Patriots
If you score zero points you have to be in here. Simple as that. Belichick must be going mad just now, seeing the performances from the last two weeks. Largest point margin career loss at Dallas, largest home defeat vs the Saints.
I mean this is getting ugly. What more can I say, you’re facing the Raiders next, you know what to expect, you’re playing against former players. Go and win this game, end of. Give the fans something to smile about – they need it.
5. Buffalo Bills
It was between the Bills and Cowboys. I’m letting Dallas off because the 49ers are on a roll and I was fully expecting a big win against the Cowboys. The Bills however, after that statement win against Miami, really surprised me.
Buffalo got a little lesson themselves from the Jags in London. They had no run game whatsoever, they had no momentum and they were outclassed. I say this a lot and I know it’s mentioned so often too, but Josh Allen needs to learn that when he gets greedy and forces it, things go wrong. He should know that by now, but it doesn’t show in his play.
The Jags, to their credit, forced Allen into feeling like he had to force it, so massive credit to them for that. The Bills might have kept the score line close but that isn’t how the game went. The Jags bossed it and I want an immediate reaction from the Bills. You face the Giants, I mean, come on, let some frustration out. Go out there and play like you did against the Dolphins.
When Allen has a not so good performance, his next one is usually great, so expect 300 plus yards of passing, maybe 4 passing TD’s, no INT’S and maybe he will rush for one too. That’s usually what happens.

That’s it everyone, the bounce back for Week Six is ready. Now we just need to sit tight and see how it all plays out. Week 6 has some tasty matchups and as always there are many storylines heading into each game. Let’s go.
