The NFL is set to make history in 2025 with its most ambitious International Series yet, featuring a record seven regular-season games across five countries.

This expansion marks a significant milestone in the league’s global outreach, introducing NFL football to new cities with Dublin, Berlin and Madrid, while reinforcing its presence in established markets in Brazil and Germany, as well as London.

New cities and iconic venues

The 2025 International Series will bring American football to fresh audiences in several new locations. Dublin, Ireland, will host its first-ever regular-season NFL game on 28 September 2025, with the Pittsburgh Steelers facing the Minnesota Vikings at the historic Croke Park, a venue renowned for Gaelic games. Berlin joins the series on 9 November, as the Indianapolis Colts take on the Atlanta Falcons at the iconic Olympiastadion.

The Santiago Bernabéu Stadium, home of Real Madrid in the Spanish capital, will see the Miami Dolphins play the Washington Commanders on 16 November, marking Spain’s NFL regular-season debut.

Building on the NFL’s successful Brazil debut in 2024, the series also returns to those familiar territories with added flair. São Paulo will host a season opener for the Los Angeles Chargers, against a yet-to-be-determined opponent on 5 September.

London, a cornerstone of the series, will feature three games: the Minnesota Vikings vs. Cleveland Browns on 5 October at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium. That game will see the Vikings become the first NFL team to play in three countries, including the USA, in one season.

The New York Jets vs. Denver Broncos on 12 October, both at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, plus the Jacksonville Jaguars against a to be announced opponent at Wembley Stadium on a date to be confirmed.

Impact on the NFL’s Global Community

This expansion amplifies the NFL’s global attention and growing exposure, offering teams opportunities to dig into new audiences and fostering international fan bases. Players and staff will immerse themselves in diverse cultures, enhancing the league’s cultural exchange, while those lucky fans outside the U.S. will provide a rare chance to experience live NFL action, deepening their connection to the sport.

Since launching in 2007 with games in London, the International Series has evolved into a key pillar of the NFL’s global strategy. The 2025 season promises to deliver unparalleled excitement to fans across Brazil, Ireland, the UK, Germany, and Spain, with the league already eyeing further growth — such as a game in Melbourne, Australia, in 2026. As the NFL bridges continents, it continues to unite a global community through a shared passion for football.
