Who needs to bounce back in Week Five?

Week Five got started last night and the Bears won, oh yes, you read that correctly, the Chicago Bears won.

As exciting as that news is, let’s get this going, who is on the bounce back this week. Let’s see……

1. Miami Dolphins

The Dolphins got a humbling against the Bills in week 4. The game started off looking like a shoot out, but once the Bills made one stop, the floodgates opened and they were shutting down the Dolphins time and time again.

You’re 3-1 though so it’s no big deal, especially when your next opponent is the New York Giants. Sorry Giants fans, but it’s true. Miami will bounce back in style and I’m so confident that they will come flying, making big play after big play. Defensively I want a reaction and this matchup gives me a lot of hope for exactly that.

2. Mac Jones

Last week’s blowout loss to the Cowboys was ugly. Jones looked so good in his rookie year, but since that opening year, it’s just gotten more and more distasteful.

He is running out of time and opportunities to keep his job. Also a key point to note is how uncomfortable, nervous and hesitant Jones looks, which all add up to poor decision making. Something needs to happen or he might find he runs out of chances to keep trying.

3. New York Jets

The Jets put on a great, overall display against the Chiefs and even though they came up short, they won a lot of fans. But remember the preseason fireworks when Broncos HC ripped into the now Jets OC Hackett? That storyline is still fresh and isn’t going anywhere, so I want the Jets to come out and say we remember the rubbish you said.

We remember it and now it’s our time to reply, go out there and play for your OC, make play after play. This game should have so much spice to it and I desperately want to see the Jets make Sean Payton look even more ridiculous for what he said.

4. Cincinnati Bengals

I struggle to speak about the Bengals currently, mainly because of how big a shock it has been. It isn’t the fact that they are losing games, it’s the manner in which they are losing them. They look nowhere near the team that we know they are – offensively they have been horrible, hate to say it, but it’s true. Considering the firepower, it’s embarrassing. Joe Burrow has this lingering calf issue and I’ve heard that playing through it is okay, but I really have to question that.

A healthy Burrow might find a spark to get them going, but the Burrow we are seeing doesn’t have the chance to do that and I believe that is because he needs a break. He isn’t going to take himself out so HC Taylor needs to do it for him.

They can still win the Cardinals matchup without Burrow and then it’s a bye week. Give him a couple weeks rest and recovery and maybe, just maybe, they can still save their season.

5. Indianapolis Colts

The Colts aren’t on the bounce back because they played poorly, it’s the opposite, they are playing at a far greater level than many predicted, myself included. They were so close to taking down the Rams and now they have a huge divisional match against the Titans, who are coming off of a great win, so I feel like this game is setting up to be a real cracker.

I’d love to see Richardson have another really solid performance and for the Colts to win, it will just add to the incredible story that they are writing this season. You add the potential return of Jonathon Taylor in the backfield and you have to say they have a real chance to win this one. The Colts need to feed off the fact that they are still so overlooked and that should fuel them to produce more winning performances that turn heads.

Week 5 has some spicy matchups, it has some potential blockbuster matchups and storylines. It also gives the opportunity for some of the above to bounce back. It’s just a waiting game now to see what happens and who, if any, bounce back.
