Adam Thielen returns to Minnesota Vikings via trade

The Minnesota Vikings have signed wide receiver Adam Thielen, completing a trade with the Carolina Panthers to bring the veteran back to the team he spent the first nine seasons of his career.
The deal sees the Vikings acquire Thielen, a conditional 2026 seventh-round pick, and a 2027 fifth-round pick, whilst the Panthers receive a 2026 fifth-round pick and a 2027 fourth-round pick.
Thielen, a Minnesota native who joined Carolina as a free agent in 2023, returns to strengthen a weakened receiver group. The move follows injuries to Jalen Nailor and a three-match suspension for Jordan Addison, creating an urgent need for depth. Thielen’s familiarity with coach Kevin O’Connell’s system and his established connection with star receiver Justin Jefferson make him a perfect fit.
During his two seasons with the Panthers, Thielen recorded 151 receptions for 1,629 yards and nine touchdowns in 27 matches, proving he remains a dependable target at age 35. His return to Minnesota is seen as a homecoming for the former undrafted free agent who achieved Pro Bowl status with the Vikings.
With his experience and proven performance, Thielen is expected to provide immediate support as the team prepares for the upcoming season.
