Best wide receiving corps in the NFL heading into 2023

The NFL’s receiver landscape has seen a huge change in recent years, with an influx of pro-ready, young talent coming in to dominate at the position. The depth that rosters across the league now have is

2022 saw several blockbuster deals, trades and movement in the WR market, and while this year may have been slightly quieter, there has still been plenty of activity in free agency and in the draft. Teams have regressed while others have improved, so here’s our top five receiving corps heading into the 2023 season:

Honourable mentions: Tampa Bay Buccaneers, Dallas Cowboys, San Francisco 49ers

5. Los Angeles Chargers

The Chargers have an elite collection of players, and at receiving it is no different. Keenan Allen is still good, Mike Williams is effective when healthy and Josh Palmer has improved year on year since being taken in the third round of the 2021 NFL Draft.

The addition of Quentin Johnston gives LA another big upgrade in their receiving game. If they can all stay fit and injury-free, Justin Herbert will be in dreamland. With Kellen Moore coming in as their offensive coordinator, we cannot wait to see this offense reach the next level in 2023.

4. Philadelphia Eagles

With arguably the best receiving duo in all of football with A.J. Brown and DeVonta Smith, the Eagles, like in most position, are rich in talent at receiver.

Smith took his game to the next level in 2022, and while Quez Watkins had a down-year in terms of receiving yards, he’s still a reliable pass-catcher. With Dallas Goedert at tight end, the Eagles probably have the best overall receiving room if we’re including that position. With another depth addition at receiver, they would certainly be at the summit of this list.

3. Seattle Seahawks

D.K. Metcalf and Tyler Lockett are a very strong combination, and with their offseason additions, the Seahawks, on paper, have one of the best trios in the NFL. Jaxon Smith-Njigba was arguably the number one target available in this year’s draft, and he comes in as the long-term project in Seattle.

If he can progress as expected as a rookie, then the Seahawks will have an exciting future at the receiver position for years to come.

2. Cincinnati Bengals

Ja’Marr Chase, Tee Higgins and Tyler Boyd give the Bengals the best receiver trio in the league. Their depth after those magnificent three is fairly thin, but there is no denying that the talent on the Bengals offense is exceptional, especially at WR.

Chase and Tee Higgins both finished the 2022 season with over 1,000 receiving yards, and Boyd racked up over 750 with five touchdowns by himself. An elite starting team, Cincy are going to go far once again in the upcoming new season with their offensive options.

1. Miami Dolphins

The Dolphins just continue to improve. With two of the most explosive players in the entire league in Tyreek Hill and Jaylen Waddle, and the offensive mastermind of Mike McDaniel at the helm, Miami’s new-look offense has become incredibly productive and even more dangerous.

With Robbie Chosen (formerly Anderson) and Braxton Berrios joining the corp, the team has an abundance of options in their receiving room for 2023. Even without Mike Gesicki at tight end, at wide receiver, the Dolphins are very well covered.
