Can Green Bay’s running back duo take their game to the next level in 2023?

It’s without question that the Cleveland Browns had the best two headed dragon in the NFL for the past few seasons. The duo of Kareem Hunt and Nick Chubb was a sight to see, however with free agency coming and going the Browns have decided to not bring back Kareem Hunt.

With the two being split up by Andrew Berry (Browns GM) this offseason, does this mean the Green Bay Packers have the best running back duo?

As a Packers fan I would say yes, but looking at it from an NFL perspective you can’t deny not thinking that. There’s not many running back duos in the league anymore due to free agency and salary cap breaking up a bunch of duos.

The Packers seemingly have kept their duo intact and have them on good terms, with the trade of Aaron Rodgers to the New York Jets it has freed up a lot of cap space for them which allows them to keep the duo further down the future as well. Aaron Jones is obviously the starting running back he is an absolute stud, last season he recorded 1,121 rushing yards on 213 attempts averaging 5.3 yards a carry but only recorded two touchdowns.

Which doesn’t seem a lot compared to “Quadzillas” stats which were 770 yards on 186 attempts averaging 4.1 yards per carry recording 7 touchdowns. Seeing the touchdown numbers are very deceiving but, if you know the Packers Aaron Jones is more of a receiving back and isn’t used in the red zone as much as AJ Dillon. This is great for Green Bay, as instead of relying on one guy for all of the running back tasks they’re able to flip and flop each player which I believe will give them an advantage this season.

These two are what you want from running backs, Big and Quick! Dillon is the big rumbling guy who’ll bulldoze everyone to get into the end zone while being in the red zone. Jones is the elite quickness back who will fly by the defensive backs and after watching them for so long I can safely say they are the best running back duo in the league.

Be sure to watch out for them this season because they will carry the Packers offense, literally.
