It’s in the game: What to know about EA Sports’ Madden 23

Madden 23 will serve to honor the late and great John Madden who was the namesake of the classic video game in 1988. As John Madden himself will be on the cover of all three editions of this year’s game, it marks the first time in over two decades that Madden will be the cover athlete. It has been the trend towards using athletes since the early 2000s.

And of course, Coach Madden’s iconic voice is returning to the game. This is according to EA Sports: “Using remastered audio clips that call back to his legendary days as a broadcaster.” So fans, like us, can experience that classic play-by-play by the legendary football coach himself.

Remembering the great John Madden

EA Sports are going big this year to honor the legendary coach and broadcaster, that not only educated people on the great game of football, but revolutionized the sport for all fans – old or new.

Alongside that, EA Sports is creating a more realistic gameplay. They are committed to realism with new features such as Player motivations, Player tags, and FieldSENSE.

When it comes to player motivations, numerous factors helps with determining how interested a player is in signing with your NFL franchise. Factors such as most money involved, best roster to win a Super bowl, teams traditional values, tax free state and more.

Player tags states that star players will carry characteristics such as being mentors that helps young players, Bridge players that’ll likely be replaced by next season, and Award winners that are considered best of the best around the NFL.

The new FieldSENSE animation system that EA Sports is implementing for Madden 23 simply impacts every position on an NFL field, for addition of more animations changing everything from how tackling works to how catches are made, etc.

99 anyone?

The top rated NFL players on Madden 23 have already been named. Rams DT Aaron Donald, Raiders WR Davante Adams, Browns EDGE Myles Garrett and 49ers OL Trent Williams are all 99 rated on the game.

The top four ranked NFL teams on Madden 23 are the Tampa Bay Buccaneers (92 overall), Buffalo Bills (89), Los Angeles Rams (88), & Green Bay Packers (88).

The legendary John Madden legacy forever will not just be remembered for how much of a amazing football personality he was. He will be remembered for being an even better human being during his life.

John Madden will always be cherished as time goes on. Madden 23 is set to be released on August 19th on PS5, Xbox Series X, PC and more.
