NFL Week 11 Star Performers

A lot of the players below came from one game… and for good reason! Sorry if it’s a bit Cowboys heavy this week but they were bloody good. Like. **Really** bloody good.

Game week eleven! Let’s go!

Tony Pollard

RB, Dallas Cowboys, W 40-3 @ Vikings

Sunday was Tony Pollard’s night. It helps playing behind / with an elite runner as he does with Zeke but Pollard’s explosive movement and catching ability was at the forefront of the absolute demolition of the Vikings, who were exposed badly on both sides of the ball. His stat lines were remarkable; 15 attempts on the ground for 80 yards and a further 6 receptions for 109 and a couple of touchdowns.

Prior to this game, he was right up there with the league leaders for both yards per attempt and yards after contact with his movement a key element to his success again this evening. Having Zeke on the squad to act as the battering ram to Pollard’s finesse could be deadly as we approach the sharp end of the season.

Micah Parsons

LB, Dallas Cowboys, W 40-3 @ Vikings

Honourable mention to Maxx Crosby who was probably more of a difference maker against Denver on Sunday night, but my shout goes to Parsons. He’s been superb again after his DROTY season in 2021, capping off a brace of sacks on Cousins with a forced fumble early in the first quarter which set the tone for the entire game.

The former Penn State superstar and first round pick harassed Kirk Cousins all night with a total of five QB hits and is surely staking his claim to head back to the ProBowl for the 2022 season.

Davante Adams

WR, Las Vegas Raiders, OT/W 22-16 @ Broncos

Adams has had a challenging start to his time in Vegas following his blockbuster move from Green Bay. He’s got a massive contract and a lot of pressure on his shoulders but Sunday saw us understand a little more about his raw ability. He only took seven receptions but made Denver pay heavily when he did, garnering over 140yds of offence, averaging 20.1 YPC.

He capped it all off with a walk-off touchdown reception from Derek Carr in OT to break a losing streak that, if we’re being fair, The Raiders probably didn’t deserve to be on. Other than that absolute no-show when they played the Saints, the Raiders have been involved in one-score games and just ended up on the wrong side of them more often than they probably deserve. They’ll have a tough test in the Thanksgiving schedule when they play the surprise package for this year in the Seahawks.

A week to forget for… Kirk Cousins

QB, Minnesota Vikings, L3-40 vs Cowboys

Dak and the gang made the previously 8 – 1 Vikings look incredibly average and the man under centre for the team from Minneapolis had an absolute Cousins of a game. Kirk has been known to be streaky at times and Sunday was an exemplar of this. He’s probably been more solid than his previous incarnations over the course of the season.

But his O-Line couldn’t give him time to find his guys and when he did pick them out, they weren’t helping him out with a couple of significant drops. Sacked seven times, connecting for a total of 105yds before being benched for Nick Mullens when the game was beyond doubt. Kirk Thuggins? More like Kirk Muggins this week.
