Offensive Rookie Stars of Week One

Week One of any NFL season is the first opportunity many of us get to see some of the new offensive superstars entering the league. So with that in mind, here’s an early look in on the young guns who shun from the off on the opening weekend of 2023.

Puka Nacua – WR, Rams

Who is this kid?!

Out of nowhere, just like the veteran wide receiver in his Rams locker room Cooper Kupp, the BYU product Nacua played like a young Kupp on Sunday. Some serious toe drag swag and some seriously good hands, hauling in ten of 15 targets for 119 yards.

Maybe Kupp will be able to stay fit with someone else sharing the targets this year?

Zay Flowers – WR, Ravens

One big winner from a lacking Ravens receiving unit, especially in light of the Week One injury to Mark Andrews was Zay Flowers.

He looked to take to the NFL with no hesitation and with the exuberance that made him a standout at college. 78 yards on nine receptions, with a couple carries on the ground as well. Expect Flowers to be a nuisance in the north.

Bijan Robinson – RB, Falcons

Electric.

That is the first thing I thought of watching Robinson on the field this Sunday. The Falcons were all over the field, with Tyler Allgeier working in tandem with Bijan for huge gains and to win over Carolina.

A receiving touchdown on the day, 57 yards on the ground, and multiple broken ankles. I will admit after my previous article about his NFL prospects I was sceptical that he was worth the first round fantasy draft capital… I’m happy to say when I’m wrong.

Jordan Addison – WR, Vikings

I know I got excited when I first saw that first deep touchdown connection with Kirk Cousins for the Vikings. He might be sitting on my fantasy football bench this week but not for much longer.

Justin Jefferson regularly steals the show, as he did in Week One. But give Addison his dues hauling in four receptions for 61 yards and a touchdown in his NFL debut.

We could be looking at the beginning of a beautiful wide receiver duo.
