The Baltimore Ravens have committed to their star safety Kyle Hamilton with a colossal four-year contract extension worth £76 million, including £62 million in guaranteed money.

The deal makes Hamilton the highest-paid safety in NFL history, cementing his role as a cornerstone of the franchise.

Drafted 14th overall in 2022 from Notre Dame, Hamilton has quickly become one of the league’s elite defensive backs. His versatility is unmatched; he thrives as a safety, in the slot, or near the line of scrimmage, excelling in coverage, tackling, and blitzing.

In the 2024 season, he recorded 81 combined tackles, three sacks, 13 pass deflections, and four interceptions, while allowing remarkably few yards per completion. Widely regarded as the NFL’s top safety, his hard-hitting style and exceptional coverage skills make him a true game-changer.

Hamilton is the heartbeat of the Ravens’ defence, a fluid juggernaut that adapts seamlessly to opponents through aggressive schemes and positional flexibility. As the linchpin, he enables defensive coordinator Zach Orr to unleash innovative strategies that keep offences off balance. His ability to disrupt passing lanes, stop the run, and pressure quarterbacks has been vital to Baltimore’s reputation as one of the NFL’s stingiest defences. With Hamilton locked in for the long haul, the Ravens’ defensive dominance looks set to continue for years to come.
