Washington Commanders owner Dan Snyder testifies in Congress

Under oath, Commanders owner Daniel Snyder fielded questions for more than 10 agonizing hours on Thursday. Part of a House Oversight Committee hearing, the questions focused on a national probe into what many insiders are stating was an “toxic” workplace environment for the Washington franchise.

After weeks of trying to set up a appropriate date for Congress to testify under oath, with recent news back in late June of Daniel Snyder declining to appear at an public hearing on Capitol Hill with NFL commissioner Roger Goodell. The meeting finally took place on July 28th.

The deposition between Daniel Snyder & the United States Congress on the matters of the Commanders workplace started approximately at 8a.m ET during Thursday morning (28/07). It reportedly concluded at 6:30p.m EST that afternoon.

A spokesperson for the Washington Commanders stated on Thursday’s deposition that: “Mr. Snyder fully addressed all questions about workplace misconduct, described the Commanders’ dramatic two-year transformation and expressed hope for the organization’s bright future.”

With Thursday’s deposition involving Congress not being open to the public, but the committee can now decide if or when to release a transcript of his remarks, more information will likely come out in early August.
