XFL Power Rankings: Week One

After a stellar opening weekend for the XFL, it is time to reassess and see where the teams rank going into round two.

After a stunning win for the Battlehawks, a dominant Roughnecks victory, and a defensive masterclass from the Renegades, who will be placed first in the power rankings?

After a seeming on top in the game against the Battlehawks, the Brahmas were in the clear for a victory until St. Louis would comeback from a twelve point deficit within two minutes. 6. Vegas Vipers

XFL 2023 is underway and Vegas scores the first TD

Vegas Vipers had an incredible first half against the Arlington Renegades, but crashed down to earth with a defeat in the second. Vipers quarterback Luis Perez had an MVP-like game in the opening quarters, but failed in the second half, throwing a huge pick six in the final minutes of the game, sealing the Renegades victory.

5. Seattle Sea Dragons

With the return of Josh Gordon to the stage, it was supposed be a positive opening day for the Sea Dragons. The hype was shortly lived as the DC Defenders finally got their confidence back to secure the win

The Sea Dragons did hold their own for most of the game until a fatal pick six changed the whole momentum. Sea Dragons find themselves in the 5th spot of the power rankings, with the potential to move up if they can stop the Battlehawks in their first home game next week.

4. Arlington Renegades

3. DC Defenders

The Defenders defense stepped up in times when they needed it most and the whole team was impressive this week.

2. St. Louis Battlehawks

The Roughnecks absolutely destroyed the Orlando Guardians and if the Simpsons meme was ever a reality this would’ve been it. The Guardians would have the first score of the game and after that it just went downhill from there.

The Houston Roughnecks defense shined, sacking both Orlando quarterbacks seven times in total throughout the game. With an impressive 33-12 victory, the Roughnecks have dominated their way to the number one spot.
