Nick Chubb and Amari Cooper led the Cleveland Browns to victory against the Pittsburgh Steelers on Thursday Night to open Week Three of the 2022 NFL season.

Four days on from their devastating meltdown to the Jets, the Browns got back to winning ways with an impressive performance to win 29-17.

Browns bounce back

Trailing 14-13 at the interval, the Browns offense dominated the second half, scoring of their first two drives after the break.

Chubb rushed for 113 yards and a touchdown off 23 carries, while Cooper recorded his first 100-yard receiving outing since his move from the Dallas Cowboys.

It was another solid display from stand-in quarterback Jacoby Brissett, who threw for 220 yards and two TDs. Tight end David Njoku recorded the other score.

It was a quiet night for the usually standout defense. Jacob Phillips recorded the only sack for the Browns.

Offensive woes for Pittsburgh

For Pittsburgh, back-to-back defeats has well and truly built up the heat on QB Mitch Trubisky, who threw for 207 yards in the game.

Many feel the former Bears star has not shown enough so far this season, with fans now asking if he should be benched for rookie Kenny Pickett.

Offensively, the Steelers receivers stood out despite another bad day at the office for Trubisky. In the play of the game, wideout George Pickens made an incredible, gravity-defying catch to show why he’s considered to be one of the hottest talents from the 2022 NFL Draft. Diontae Johnson also recorded 63 yards from six receptions.

On defence, the Steelers struggled without T.J. Watt to stop the Cleveland run game. Alex Highsmith was the pick of the players with another 1.5 sacks, but Pittsburgh are now 0-6 when Watt is on the sidelines.

Onto Week Four, the Browns travel to face the Atlanta Falcons, while the Steelers will hope to get back to winning ways against the New York Jets.
