Giants and DT Dexter Lawrence agree terms of four-year, $90 million extension
The New York Giants have continued their offseason spending by tying down star defensive tackle Dexter Lawrence is signing a four-year, $90 million extension with $60 million guaranteed.
Lawrence, a second-team All-Pro after his best season in the league in 2022, was heading into the fifth-year option season on his rookie contract and was expected to earn $10.753 million this season. Now, he’ll make considerably more than that this year, with a contract structure expected to reduce his 2023 salary cap hit.
Giants General Manager Joe Schoen had said all offseason that he considered a new deal for Lawrence to be a top priority, and now that deal is done.
Who could be next? Well, the next priority Schoen has discussed is a new contract for running back Saquon Barkley, who was franchise tagged by New York earlier in the offseason.
