Julio Jones joins the Tampa Bay Buccaneers
Yes, you read the headline correctly. The Tampa Bay Buccaneers have officially agreed to a one-year deal with 7x NFL Pro Bowl WR Julio Jones.
At the moment, contract details are still in the works. But the deal is essentially done according to multiple sources involved in the contract negotiations.
ESPN reporter Adam Schefter first broke the news at 4:30pm EST on Tuesday. He stated that: “Julio Jones drew interest from the Green Bay Packers and Buccaneers. But Tampa was the most aggressive in giving its QB a new offensive weapon.”
In his last game with the Titans, Jones caught six passes for only 62 yards in a 19-16 AFC Divisional Round defeat to the Cincinnati Bengals lead by Joe Burrow.
In 130 career games for the 33-year-old Julio Jones Jr, he’s caught 879 receptions, 13,330 receiving yards (15.2 yards per catch), and 61 receiving touchdowns throughout his career while playing for the Atlanta Falcons and Tennessee Titans during his amazing 11 year career in the NFL.
Julio Jones is an two-time All-Pro. He also made the NFL Hall of Fame’s All-2010s team. Jones is now on a championship proven roster with G.O.A.T Tom Brady back again in sunny Florida.
Mike Evans, Chris Godwin, and Julio Jones Jr. That’s the weapons you’re allowing the greatest QB in NFL History in Tom Patrick Brady to have after just coming back from a very short retirement in this very hectic NFL offseason.
What a pickup by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers!
