NFL Sunday Week Five: Eagles go 5-0 as Giants stun Packers in London

Eagles cardinals

The Philadelphia Eagles remain unbeaten as they rallied to a hard-fought 20-17 victory over the Arizona Cardinals in Phoenix and make it five wins out of five.

The games seemed to heading to overtime before Matt Ammendola’s late field-goal attempt for the Cardinals sailed wide right.

Eagles QB Jalen Hurts rushed for two touchdowns 26 of 36 passes for 239 yards, as Philadelphia go 5-0 and stay as the only team yet to lose in the league.

Giants seal epic comeback in UK game

In the first game of the day from London, the New York Giants upstaged the Green Bay Packers as they claimed a memorable 27-22 comeback win in the second of this year’s games in the British capital.

Trailing 20-10 at half-time, New York, led by quarterback Daniel Jones and running back Saquon Barkley, drew level at the start of the fourth quarter, before Barkley ran over to put the Giants in front for the first time with six minutes remaining.

The result sees the Giants move to 4-1, while the Packers slip to 3-2.

It was a record-breaking day in London, with Green Bay playing the first regular season game overseas, becoming the final NFL team to play in London since the International Series started back in 2007.

The crowd of 61,024 spectators also sett a new record for an NFL game at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

In another big shock, the Dallas Cowboys put up another dominant defensive performance as they beat the struggling Super Bowl champs, the Rams in Los Angeles.

Cooper Rush maintained his unbeaten record as the fill-in starter for Dallas in the comfortable 22-10 road win. They face the unbeaten Eagles next Sunday.

For LA, it was day heavily influenced by their injuries on offensive line. Shut out in the second half, LA QB Matt Stafford was sacked five times in the defeat, with the team now having scored just one touchdown in its past nine quarters of football.

Big wins for Patriots, Bills, Jets and 49ers

In New England, the Patriots humiliated the Lions with a 29-0 shut out win, as Bailey Zappe marked his first career start with a big victory.

New York Jets also got a valuable 40-17 victory in an AFC East matchup against the Miami Dolphins, with rookie running back Breece Hall staring.

There were also big victories for the Buffalo Bills over the Pittsburgh Steelers, and the San Francisco 49ers against the Carolina Panthers.

Elsewhere, Carson Wentz threw yet another game defining interception as the Washington Commanders let a game-winning drive slip in the last seconds to the Tennessee Titans.

It was Wentz’s fifth interception of 2022, the third-highest of any QB in the league, as the Commanders slump to a poor 1-4 record.

In the final of Week Five Sunday games, Justin Tucker sealed victory yet again for the Baltimore Ravens as they beat AFC North rivals the Cincinnati Bengals at M&T Bank Stadium.
