NFL Sunday Week Six: Upsets galore as Bills get revenge on Chiefs
Josh Allen got the better of Patrick Mahomes as the Buffalo Bills earned a tight 24-20 victory over the Kansas City Chiefs at Arrowhead Stadium.
Allen threw three touchdowns against Mahomes’ two scores and two interceptions in the battle of the young elite quarterbacks. Stefon Diggs, Gabe Davis and Dawson Knox all crossed the line for Buffalo.
In with the new, out with the old
Tom Brady and Aaron Rodgers showed their age in shock defeats for the Buccaneers and Packers respectively.
Tampa Bay were shaky in their defeat to the Pittsburgh Steelers, as Mitch Trubisky came on for an injured Kenny Pickett to score a fourth-quarter touchdown to seal a 20-18 win.
Green Bay suffered another shock loss, this time to an impressive New York Jets side. The Jets dominated the game from start to finish, with Breece Hall once again running for 100+ yards, including a 34-yard touchdown, and their defense sacking Rodgers four times on their way to an unlikely victory.
In fact, it was a tough week overall to be a favourite, with the Falcons and Giants also claiming big wins.
Eagles fly on
The Philadelphia Eagles remain the only undefeated team in the NFL as they held on the beat divisional rivals the Dallas Cowboys in Sunday’s late game.
Philly let a 20-point slip in the second-half, but Jalen Hurts, A.J. Brown and DeVonta Smith once again proved the difference for the dominant Eagles offense.
Elsewhere, Bill Belichick recorded his 324th NFL victory and tied with George Halas as the second most successful NFL coach of all-time, following the Patriots dominate win over the Cleveland Browns.
Stand-in QB Bailey Zappe threw for 309 yards and two touchdowns in another brilliant display for New England. They move back to .500 at 3-3, while the Browns slip to 2-3.
