offGrid NFL’s Fantasy League: Week Five Review

(Mandatory Credit: Kirby Lee-USA TODAY Sports)

We are back with another weekly fantasy review in the offGrid NFL Fantasy League.

We lost our only undefeated member in week 5 as the 4-0 Ian slipped to his first loss of the season. He remains atop the league standings at 4-1. The middle remains close with 6 of the 7 other players either 3-2 or 2-3 leaving it well poised heading into week 6.

Here’s a brief recap of Week Five:

Luke (Bryce Bryce Baby) 188.42 vs Ian (I Write About This Stuff) 134.96

The only undefeated member of the league is no more, in a brutal week for Ian there was little he could do as I had 4 players rack up over 25 points, with Adam Thielen, George Kittle, Sam Howell, and Breece Hall doing the majority of the damage.

Despite Ian leaving some points on the bench with Joe Burrow and DeAndre Swift it wouldn’t have changed the outcome. Although the win came at a cost for me as 1st overall pick of the draft Justin Jefferson is headed to IR with a hamstring injury leaving me with a selection dilemma.

Jonny (Gibbs Me The Ring) 160.00 vs Dale (Finnie23J) 127.16

A bounce-back week for Jonny after a tough week 4 defeat. Led by a monster performance from DJ Moore as the Bears man racked up 49 points in Chicago’s TNF win over the Washington Commanders.

A solid effort from Dale considering he had one of his RB positions left empty, but he’ll be kicking himself as Brock Purdy, Gabe Davies, and George Pickens all scored 20+ points on the bench.

–

Danny (Chark-nado) 113.66 vs James (Egg Fried Bryce) 105.24

A low-scoring thriller here saw Danny come out on top in week 5 to improve to 3-2. Josh Allen led the way for Danny once again as the Bills man secured 28.76 points in the Bills loss across the pond at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

James can count himself seriously unlucky, heading into the MNF clash he needed 16.93 points from Davante Adams to secure the win, but the Raiders star man secured just 8.5 points.

Tom (Tua Lipa) 161.32 vs Peter (Turn Down The Watt) 154.74

In what was the closest game of the weekend Tom overcame Peter by just 6.58 points, a monster 36.40 performance from Travis Etienne played a huge part in giving Tom the win.

Peter will see this one as a missed opportunity, losing by just 6.58 points he left Kenneth Walker in the starting lineup despite Seattle being on a bye week with AJ Dillion’s 13.60 points scored on the bench would have been enough to give Peter the win.
