Three landing spots for Jerry Jeudy

Last offseason was full of key wide receiver moves with the likes of Davante Adams and Tyreek Hill involved in blockbuster trades. And while there might not have been as many deals this offseason (depending on DeAndre Hopkins situation), there are still many options that teams will look to get.

Jerry Jeudy is one of those players. The Denver Broncos may look to be on the move from 2020 15th pick after just three seasons, with the team reportedly considering trading the wide receiver, along with other the likes of Courtland Sutton and KJ Hamler despite Coach Sean Payton saying otherwise.

The price for Jeudy is deemed high, and no team was yet to be willing to give up what it would take. He’s had an up-and-down career so far in the NFL, struggling with injuries and drops, but did finish the finished the 2022 season strong and developed chemistry with quarterback Russell Wilson.

During a six-game stretch from Week 13 on, Jeudy looked like a bona fide No. 1 wide receiver. All in all in 2022, Jeudy had 67 receptions, 972 yards, and six touchdowns with a 67% catch rate.

The Broncos have only five picks in April’s upcoming NFL draft and might be preparing to trade away one or two of their assets this spring to recoup. With a weak free agent WR market, Denver may have more leverage in negotiations.

Here are the top three landing spots for Jeudy.

Cleveland Browns

The Browns have been listed as a team with particular interest in the 23-year-old, looking to add more talent to their wide receiver room, and Jeudy would be a great addition. Although they only have picks No. 42 and 98 in the top 100 of the 2023 NFL Draft, they could still offer several late-round picks to entice the Broncos.

Cleveland recently acquired Elijah Moore from the New York Jets and if Juedy joined, it would give quarterback Deshaun Watson more firepower to help improve Cleveland’s offence.

Although it may be costly for them to acquire him from Denver, he would instantly improve the Cleveland offense and make them one of the top trios in the league.

New England Patriots

The Patriots have been connected to several receivers over the past few weeks, including DeAndre Hopkins, Odell Beckham Jr., and Jerry Jeudy. They have reportedly called the Broncos regarding Jeudy’s availability, and given they own the No. 14 pick in the first round of the 2023 NFL Draft, a second-round pick and three fourth-round picks, they have assets to give.

Giving up their first-round pick for Jeudy would be an overpay, but they could offer their second-rounder along with a player or later-round pick to meet Denver’s asking price.

Jeudy would provide much-needed help at wide receiver for New England, with their passing game struggling last season to rank 25th in passing yards per game and tied for 24th in passing touchdowns. Jeudy would be their legitimate number one receiver for what could be a better part of the next decade, and there’s also the added benefit of a small bit of familiarity between Jeudy and Mac Jones, as the two overlapped at Alabama. 

Dallas Cowboys

The Cowboys sent an offer for Jeudy at the 2022 trade deadline but couldn’t get a deal done in time. It would be a good fit, with Dallas still in the hunt for a number two guy behind CeeDee Lamb. The have signed Brandin Cooks recently, but Jeudy would add another dimension of threat through the air.

Trading for Juedy would give them another weapon on offence and help them address their need and ease the burden that Lamb has had to deal with.
