There has been a lot of talk around the possibility of the Minnesota Vikings and their running back Dalvin Cook parting ways. Both parties seem open to a trade, and there has been a lot of speculation around some potential landing spots for Cook.

You could easily make the argument that the Miami Dolphins could be a perfect fit for the running back, as they are both hungry to get a Super Bowl ring.

Cook is one of the best running backs in the league, having reached over 1000 yards a season for four consecutive years. Having been drafted by the Vikings in the 2017 draft, Cook has been a big part of the Vikings set-up in recent years through his production and great ability to run the football.

When you are look at his PFF grades over the years, they have been in the high 60’s. His standout years were in 2019 and 2020, were he had an 81.3 grade in 2019, and an 89.0 grade in 2020. Cook is an impact player that could perform well wherever he goes.

Why Miami would be ideal

The Dolphins could be a perfect fit for the 27-year-old as they are both at similar stages when it comes to getting to the super bowl. What is meant by this is that Miami is on a upward projection towards becoming a Super Bowl contender, and Cook is now 27 which means he may only have a few more years at his prime.

The Dolphins have a very loaded offense headed up by quarterback Tua Tagovailoa with playmakers like Tyreek Hill, Jaylen Waddle, and Chosen Anderson. Miami struggled to get their running game going last year, with Raheem Mostert and Jeff Wilson Jr having solid production but didn’t make the impact they hoped for. This resulted in the Dolphins’ offense becoming somewhat predictable, as they could only move the chains by passing the ball. Cook could help this offense transform into becoming more balanced.

It is going to be interesting to see what happens in terms of where Cook could end up, especially in a scenario where we see him playing for his hometown.
