Can Tua lead the Dolphins to the Super Bowl?

The AFC is loaded with contenders.

You have the AFC West, which is essentially the powerhouse of the AFC this year with the Chiefs, Raiders, Broncos, and Chargers, while the Bills are the most fancied team for the Super Bowl

On top of that, don’t forget the reigning AFC Champion Cincinnati Bengals, who look more than ready to run it back. I would even go as far to say that the Titans have a legitimate chance with the return of King Henry.

But there is one team that has not gotten the recognition it deserves, and that’s the Miami Dolphins.

Why Dolphins can join the AFC elites

The Dolphins have put together a well-balanced roster this offseason. No doubt, they are heavily resourced both offensively and defensively. But the one piece that will dictate their success this upcoming season is at quarterback with Tua Tagovailoa.

We have seen and heard both good and bad from the young quarterback out of Alabama. The hype is at an all time high after the offseason signings.

On top of securing Tyreek Hill earlier in the offseason, Miami has the exciting Jaylen Waddle, who could already be a top 10 all around receiver. He’s been forming great chemistry with Tua since their college days.

The there is tight end Mike Gesicki and an underrated slot receiver in Cedrick Wilson, two credible playmakers who can make a difference for this offense.

In the running back room, the Dolphins have two strong new additions in the backfield this year in Chase Edmonds and Raheem Mostert. Both have shown the ability not only to run the ball but catch effectively.

Protecting the QB

Another important part of the puzzle is making sure Tua is properly protected. Despite missing four games in 2021, Tua was still sacked 20 times and didn’t have much time to make plays.

The addition of Terron Armstead in free agency should help to give Tua more time in the pocket, while developing more lanes for the running backs to break through.

If this offensive line can help Tua to go out and make the right throw, while staying healthy, the Dolphins might just surprise a few people and make a run in the offseason, even to the Super Bowl.

McDaniel crucial to Tua’s development

Now, I wouldn’t be writing this article if it hadn’t been for the addition of coach Mike McDaniel.

There is a certain understanding McDaniel seems to have with the responsibility of his position, and the understanding of his team.

He’s a charismatic coach with a huge footballing IQ and he will be calling the plays in an attempt to get the best out of this offense. McDaniel will give Tua the keys to go out and just play football.

All-in-all, there are many teams that have offensive promise, with franchise quarterbacks at the helm.

The names everyone believes in, from Joe Burrow to Patrick Mahomes to Justin Herbert. Tua Tagovailoa will be looking to join that group in 2022, turning the Miami Dolphins from underdogs, to Super Bowl contenders by the years end. Believe my prediction!
