The Chicago Bears will take on the Carolina Panthers at Soldier Field tonight. The two teams have been struggling so far in 2023 and look to be favourites to get the first pick ahead of next year’s NFL Draft. Bothe franchise will be looking to get a big win to try and get their season back on track. It will hopefully be an exciting matchup with good betting options.

The Bears have had a disappointing season so far. It came as somewhat of a surprise, as there was so much hype around Chicago going into the season. Quarterback Justin Fields who was the betting favourite for MVP hasn’t been able to find his rhythm yet. He has thrown over 1,200 yards and 11 touchdowns. His ball security has been an issue as thrown six interceptions.

However, Fields will miss the game because of injury and Tyson Bagent will start. Bagent has been the QB1 for three straight games and he has thrown of 600 yards and three touchdowns. DJ Moore is the best playmaker on the roaster with over 735 receiving yards and five touchdowns off 47 receptions. On the defensive ball, the Bears have been poor and have given 25.5 points per game on average.

The new era in Carolina has gotten off to a slow start. The Panthers have only won a solo game against the Houston Texans. Their rookie quarterback Bryce Young has shown glimpses of talent but isn’t able to show how good he is. Young has thrown for over 1,350 yards in his rookie year so far.

Over 38.5 – This is a risk as both offenses stink, but they also give up a hell of a lot of points. The Panthers rank 7th in most point per game allowed, (the Bears 4th) and there have been fewer than 39 points scored in only one Chicago game all season.

Bryce Young over 215.5 passing yards – Young is in a tough spot, but isn’t the prime reason for the Panthers struggles. He needs a pick-me-up game, and teams are averaging a 70% completion rate and a league-highest 20 passing touchdowns against the Bears this season. This could well be his night.

Darnell Mooney over 27.5 receiving yards – Mooney is having a tough year with DJ Moore Chicago’s WR1, but he has leads wideouts in yards since Tyson Bagent has taken over. Carolina is banged up across the defense, so should be expecting to hit this line once more tonight.
