NFL Betting Tips: Winless Bears travel to Washington
The Chicago Bears will take on the Washington Commanders at the FedEx Field in the US capital on Thursday evening, with the away team looking to get their first win of 2023. The Commanders will be trying to get above 500, so it will be an exciting game, and both teams will probably think it’s winnable.
The Commanders have made a solid start to the season with a record of 2-2. They have shown some promising staff on the football field and look to have a good season in the NFC. Their quarterback, Sam Howell, has had an up-and-down start to the year, playing well in a couple of games but not so well in others.
The sophomore quarterback has thrown for over 900 yards and four touchdowns. However, ball security has been an issue, as he has thrown for five interceptions. Washington has some good playmakers, such as Terry McLaurin Jr., Curtis Samuel and Antonio Gibson can all make plays with the football. On the defensive side, the Commanders have been pretty poor, giving up 30 points a game. They will look to get a big win over the Bears to build confidence for the rest of the season.
Chicago had a lot of hype around them going into the season, as many people believed they were going to take a massive step forward. It is safe to say that they haven’t lived up to the hype because they haven’t won a game so far this season.
A contributing factor to this is quarterback Justin Fields’ performance. The quarterback has thrown for over 800 yards and seven touchdowns. However, like Howell, he has thrown five interceptions.
They haven’t got many playmakers, with their prominent playmaker being DJ Moore. It is always hard for an offence to succeed when they only have a few playmakers are on the field. On the defensive side of the ball, the Bears have been terrible, as they have given up 34.25 points per game. They will look to get their first win against the commanders tonight and show the world that they are a solid team.
